On This Day: Henry VIII Imprisons Anne Boleyn in Tower of London
On this day in 1536, King Henry VIII ordered his second wife, Anne Boleyn, to be committed to the Tower of London on charges of adultery and incest. Despite being widely considered innocent, she was later convicted and beheaded.
