Teen Victim in Critical Condition After Shooting
A 16-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds following a shooting incident in Birmingham. West Midlands Police confirmed that officers were called to the scene in the Handsworth area at approximately 8:30 PM on Wednesday evening.
Upon arrival, emergency services found the teenager with serious injuries. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage.
“This is a shocking incident in which a young boy has sustained life-threatening injuries,” said Detective Inspector Jim Colclough of West Midlands Police. “We are doing everything we can to establish what happened and identify those responsible. I would urge anyone with information to contact us immediately.”

The shooting has sparked concern among local residents, who have expressed shock and dismay over the violence. Community leaders have called for calm and urged anyone with information to assist the police.
