I'm A Celebrity Contestant Forced to Withdraw on Medical Grounds

In a dramatic turn of events, one of the remaining celebrities has been compelled to leave the I'm A Celebrity camp on medical grounds mere days before the highly anticipated live final. The unexpected departure has sent shockwaves through the camp, triggering an emotional response from fellow contestants.

Emotional Camp Scene as Star Announces Exit

The incident unfolded at the beginning of the day when the visibly upset campmate gathered the group together to deliver the devastating news. "I've just got something to tell you all," they began, before explaining, "I didn't feel very well this morning... and the medics have advised I can't return to camp. I've got to go home."

With tears in their eyes, the departing star added, "I don't want to go. I'm absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish." The remaining campmates embraced their fellow contestant before the emotional exit, leaving everyone reeling from the sudden development.

Final Week Shakeup

This unscheduled exit leaves eight remaining contestants vying to be crowned a 'legend' in the live final scheduled for Friday. The reduced field will compete in a trial called Rancid Run, which was previewed on Monday night's show and features contestants competing in pairs.

Further eliminations are anticipated throughout the week, gradually whittling the lineup down to just four celebrities who will battle it out in the final showdown. Medical withdrawals are not unprecedented in the history of the programme, having occurred previously in the Australian version.

Recent Camp Developments

Monday night saw the eviction of David Haye and Gemma Collins from camp, while comedian Seann Walsh became the first celebrity to depart the South Africa series last week. This year's All Stars installment has generated considerable discussion, particularly regarding former boxer David Haye's conduct within the camp.

Last week, Haye faced criticism after referring to his girlfriend Sian as an "ugly duckling," prompting stunned reactions from fellow campmates. Despite describing Sian as "lovely," he elaborated by saying she "has the personality of a proper ugly bird."

Haye explained his perspective: "Most ugly girls realise they've gotta have a personality and the banter to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they're not aesthetically amazing straight away. It's called ugly duckling syndrome, where girls are ugly when they start off, then they get pretty as they get older, but they've still got the personality of when they were ugly."

Controversial Treatment of Fellow Contestant

The former boxer also faced backlash over his treatment of Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas, who declined to participate in a Bushtucker Trial due to dehydration and low energy caused by his autoimmune disease. Haye lashed out, branding Adam "useless" and declaring he didn't "give a s**t" if he was feeling unwell.

Following his departure from the show, Haye claimed there was "no bad blood" on his side towards Adam. He elaborated on his perspective: "I've been immersed in tough boxing gyms since I was ten years old. Literally fighting daily, much bigger men than myself, pushing myself to the limits, physically and mentally. I won the world heavyweight championship against a seven-foot Russian giant. So when a grown man tells me that a fun TV show - where we're being paid handsomely every single day - is the hardest thing he's ever been through, it's just not a frequency I recognise."

I'm A Celebrity continues on ITV and ITVX tonight at 9pm.
