Mystery surrounds a film set at Himley Hall, a historic house on the Dudley and Staffordshire border, where horses and period cars were spotted on Friday morning (April 24). The Grade II listed building, dating from the early 17th century, has become the focus of speculation as crews were seen with white vans and trailers parked on site.
Possible Connection to Peaky Blinders
While it is not yet confirmed what film or TV show is being produced, the new series of Peaky Blinders has been filming in the region over recent weeks. The BBC drama is set to return with a new cast, including Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby, and is expected to be set in the 1950s. Other cast members include Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski.
Historic Location
Himley Hall’s park and garden, extended in the 1770s by Lancelot "Capability" Brown, are also Grade II listed. The site’s historic features make it an ideal backdrop for period productions.
Creator Steven Knight expressed excitement about the new era of Peaky Blinders, stating: "I am thrilled that we are announcing a new era of Peaky Blinders, moving the story to post-war Birmingham in the early 50s."
Photos from the location show horses and vintage vehicles, adding to the intrigue. Further details about the production are expected to be revealed soon.
