Isle of Thanet Photographic Society Thrives with Record 2025/26 Season
Thanet Photo Club Enjoys Bumper Start to 2025/26 Season

The Isle of Thanet Photographic Society has kicked off its 2025/26 season with remarkable energy and success, reporting a surge in member participation and high-calibre work. Based across Broadstairs, Ramsgate, and Westgate-on-Sea, the club is celebrating a series of popular competitions and an engaging programme of talks that have captivated its members.

A Season of High Standards and Engaging Talks

The society's new season commenced with a look back at 2025, where members shared their five favourite images and the stories behind them. One standout example is Colin T. Miller's striking wintry landscape, Land of Fire and Ice, captured during a club trip to Iceland. The programme has been enriched by excellent talks covering diverse subjects, including The Legendary Lee Miller, Drone Photography, and 60 Years of The Red Arrows.

Competitions have been a central focus, generating exceptional enthusiasm. Both the Advanced and Intermediate Groups have seen a record number of entries, with judges noting the consistently high standards of the submitted work. These print and projected image competitions will continue right up to the society's Annual General Meeting in June.

Future Plans and Community Links

Looking ahead, the society's programme promises continued variety with planned topics on Daguerreotypes, Travel photography, Getting Creative, Studio work, and Photography with a Purpose. Furthermore, the club is actively building connections within the wider photographic community.

They are currently in discussions with fellow East Kent camera clubs based in Ashford, Canterbury, Deal, and Herne Bay. This collaboration aims to pool the collective wealth of knowledge and shared passion for photography across the region, fostering a stronger network for local enthusiasts.

A New Hub for Members and Visitors

Central to the society's renewed presence is its excellent new website. The site acts as a dynamic showcase for the latest member images, competition results, and comprehensive club news. It also provides full details for anyone interested in becoming a member and joining this vibrant community of photographers.

The society warmly invites visitors to explore their online home at www.isleofthanetphotographicsociety.com to see the quality of work and find out how to get involved.
