The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is making changes to payments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), and Attendance Allowance on May 22. This adjustment is due to the upcoming bank holiday on Monday, May 25.
Why Are Payments Changing?
The DWP does not process payments on bank holidays. As a result, any payment scheduled for May 25 will be moved to the nearest working day, which is Friday, May 22. This means affected claimants will see money in their accounts earlier than usual.
Who Is Affected?
Only claimants whose usual payment date falls on the bank holiday will experience a change. If your payment date is not May 25, you will not be affected and will receive your payment as normal.
These changes also apply to State Pension and other DWP benefits such as Universal Credit. It is important for affected households to be aware of the new payment date to budget accordingly, as the money will need to last until the next scheduled payment.
For more information, claimants can visit the official DWP website or contact their local jobcentre.
