Pregnant woman and unborn baby killed in Belfast crash

A tragic road traffic collision in County Antrim has claimed the lives of three people, including a pregnant woman and her unborn baby.

Details of the Fatal Incident

The incident occurred on Sunday, January 11, at around 2pm on a road near Nutts Corner in Crumlin, close to Belfast. The collision involved a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Skoda Superb.

Cathrene Kith Quiñones Singco, who was pregnant, was a rear-seat passenger in one of the vehicles. She sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Tragically, her unborn baby also died as a result of the collision.

A man in his 30s, who was also a passenger in the same car, died later from injuries sustained in the accident. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that a number of other people involved sustained minor injuries.

Police Investigation and Appeal

Detective Inspector Stewart from the PSNI's Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene alongside emergency service colleagues. He expressed his condolences, stating the force's thoughts were with the woman's family and friends.

An investigation into the exact circumstances of the crash is now underway. Police are urging the public for assistance with their enquiries.

"We are investigating what happened and require the public's assistance with our enquiries," said Det Insp Stewart.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage of the road around the time of the incident.
