The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published a comprehensive list of 22 bowel and stomach conditions that qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), offering up to £748 per month for eligible claimants.
PIP Payment Rates
PIP provides financial support for individuals with long-term health conditions or disabilities. The daily living component is paid at a standard rate of £76.55 per week or an enhanced rate of £114.80 per week. The mobility component is paid at a standard rate of £30.20 per week or an enhanced rate of £80.10 per week. Claimants who qualify for the enhanced daily living rate and a portion of the mobility support can receive up to £748 per month.
Eligibility Criteria
The DWP assesses how challenging daily living and mobility tasks are for claimants. Each task is evaluated based on safety, time taken, and whether assistance from a person or equipment is needed. The frequency of the condition's impact is also considered.
