Birmingham City confirm Portugal pre-season camp

Birmingham City have confirmed their pre-season plans, which include a return to Portugal's Algarve region for the second consecutive summer. The club will head to Lagos for a six-day training camp after reporting back to the Elite Performance and Innovation Centre in Henley-in-Arden at the end of June.

Pre-Season Schedule

The first team squad will undergo testing and begin the first week of pre-season training under manager Chris Davies towards the end of June. Then, on Sunday, 5 July, the squad will fly out to Portugal for a six-day training camp in Lagos.

Open Training Session and Friendlies

Blues have confirmed that they intend to host an open training session that supporters can watch in Lagos. It is expected that they will begin their pre-season campaign out there. The club's announcement stated: "Further information regarding the training camp, including details of a potential fixture, will also be communicated once confirmed."

Last year, Blues travelled to the Algarve for a week-long training camp before a friendly against Sevilla at the Algarve Stadium. This year, they will be based in Lagos.

Player Availability

Davies will likely have a healthy contingent of players in Portugal this year, with Paik Seung-ho expected to be the only Blues player at this summer's World Cup.
