A couple has been permanently banned from Jet2 after attempting to join the mile-high club before their aircraft departed from East Midlands Airport. The incident occurred on Thursday, 16th April, during take-off, when fellow passengers observed the pair engaging in inappropriate behavior in their seats.
Passenger Complaints and Airline Response
Multiple travelers reported the lewd conduct to the flight crew, who considered returning the plane to East Midlands Airport. However, the flight continued to its destination in Gran Canaria. According to reports, the couple, both in their 50s, were subsequently removed from their Jet2 hotel and barred from the return flight.
A witness described the scene as "incredibly blatant", noting vigorous movements that shocked and disgusted other passengers. When confronted by crew members, the couple allegedly claimed they were praying due to it being their first flight experience.
Jet2's Zero-Tolerance Policy
Jet2 has confirmed the lifetime ban, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining a family-friendly environment. In a statement, the airline stated: "We can confirm that two passengers have been banned for life, following their behavior on flight LS669 from East Midlands to Gran Canaria on Thursday 16th April. As a family-friendly airline and holiday company, we take a zero-tolerance approach to appalling behavior such as this."
