Police in Birmingham have launched a major CCTV trawl as they work to piece together the events of a violent street disorder that left two men with stab wounds.
Early Hours Violence on Summer Lane
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 6 December 2025, shortly before 5am. The location was Summer Lane, an area where the Hockley district borders Birmingham city centre.
Officers were called to reports of a large-scale brawl. Upon arrival, they found a scene of significant disorder, which included two severely damaged vehicles abandoned at the location. One of these was a Lamborghini supercar valued at approximately £200,000. The other was a Skoda, which also sustained major front-end damage.
Two men were discovered with stab injuries during the incident. Their current medical condition has not been disclosed by authorities.
Ongoing Investigation and Arrests
West Midlands Police have confirmed that their investigation is actively continuing. A primary focus is on reviewing extensive CCTV footage from the area and conducting witness interviews.
An updated statement from the force on Sunday afternoon said: "We are continuing our enquiries such as reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses to establish the exact circumstances and identify all those involved."
In connection with the disorder, eight individuals were arrested. The group comprises six men and two women, all aged between 19 and 24. They were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding.
All eight have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Appeal for Information and Scene Closure
Summer Lane remained closed to traffic and pedestrians until at least 5pm on Saturday, representing a closure of around twelve hours as forensic teams examined the scene.
