Police have launched a public appeal for information after a disturbing discovery of blood-stained clothing in a West Midlands bin. Officers are urging a potential assault victim to make contact.

Disturbing Discovery on Branston Road

The incident was reported to Staffordshire Police at 6pm on Wednesday, January 7. Officers attended Branston Road in Burton-on-Trent where they made the unsettling find.

The items seized included a selection of clothing, some of which appeared to be bloodied. The haul was described as:

  • A pair of grey tracksuit bottoms in size large.
  • A white top.
  • A large grey jumper from Primark.
  • A pair of size six pink trainers or pumps.
  • A pair of large black leggings with white stripes, from the brand Shein.

Police Investigation Underway

Investigators have seized the clothing for forensic analysis and are actively reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area. The force is treating the discovery with the utmost seriousness, concerned it may be linked to an unreported violent incident.

Staffordshire Police are directly appealing to anyone who may have been injured, or who knows someone who was, to come forward. They are also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the vicinity of Branston Road around the time of the discovery.
