Boy, 10, Critical After Co Antrim Crash Kills Teen

A 10-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after a devastating road traffic collision in County Antrim that claimed the life of a teenager. Christopher Faulkner remains in a critical condition following the incident on the Belfast Road on Sunday, 26 April.

Crash Details

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 8 am after a collision involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a silver Volkswagen Passat. The driver of the Golf has been arrested by the Police Service of Northern Ireland on several driving-related charges.

Callum Hutchinson, a 16-year-old from County Tipperary, was a passenger in the Passat and tragically died at the scene. Christopher, also from the Limerick and Tipperary area, was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Family Heartache

The Faulkner family has been struck by further tragedy. Christopher is a cousin of Limerick mother Scarlett Faulkner, who died earlier this month at Cork University Hospital following a brutal attack. Her brother Jason Faulkner passed away just days after her funeral.

Community Support

Communities across Limerick and Tipperary have united to support the family. A prayer vigil has been arranged for this evening at St Lelia's Church in Limerick at 6.30 pm to pray for Christopher's recovery and for Callum's soul. A large turnout is expected to show solidarity with both families and the wider Traveller community.

Loved ones have taken to social media appealing for prayers. One person described the family as “just crushed and broken,” adding: “Please let Christopher and the other lads involved survive their injuries, and may Callum rest in peace.” Another urged: “Please everybody pray and share this around, the more prayers the better.”
