Two men were stabbed during a music event at an open-air venue in Birmingham over the weekend, prompting a police investigation and an appeal for information.
Incident Details
West Midlands Police were called to Luna Springs in Digbeth on Saturday, May 9, at around 7 PM following reports of a double stabbing. The venue was hosting a Cru2 drum and bass ticketed event on Lower Trinity Street.
Victims
Police confirmed that two men were stabbed and taken to hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The victims have not been publicly identified.
Police Response
Officers launched an investigation and remained at the scene. Crowds were asked to leave the event midway through. No arrests have been made, and inquiries are ongoing.
Witness Accounts
One attendee told BirminghamLive: "We were waiting for the next act to come on stage and then we had to leave. We were all stunned." Another said: "It was amazing until the unfortunate event." A screen behind the DJ booth initially asked partygoers to "bear with us" before instructing them to leave via the nearest exit.
