Five men were hospitalised after a red Vauxhall Astra ploughed into a group of people in Arnold town centre, leaving one man with life-threatening injuries. Police have identified a suspect and are searching for the driver, who fled the scene on foot.

Nottinghamshire Police received reports of the collision at 1:12 AM on Saturday, May 9, in Market Place. Investigations revealed an altercation occurred shortly before the car struck the group. One man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while four others suffered less serious injuries.
Police Statement
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow stated: 'Although there is no wider risk to the public, this was a serious incident. We believe an argument led to a car being driven at a group of people. We urge anyone with information or footage to contact us.'
The car was abandoned at the scene, and counter-terrorism units are not involved. The suspect is described as a white man.

A cordon is in place around Market Place, including junctions from Gedling Road to Derby Street, Hallam's Lane, and Central Avenue. Road closures will remain for a considerable period.
