A live handgun was discovered inside a car by police officers executing a pre-planned warrant in West Bromwich. The firearm was found alongside a stash of ammunition on Whitehall Road during the early hours of Tuesday, April 28.
Arrests Made
Two individuals, a man and a woman both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and possession with intent to supply drugs. They remain in police custody as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: 'Two people have been arrested as a live firearm was recovered by officers in Sandwell today. Sandwell Local Policing Area officers carried out a pre-planned warrant in Whitehall Road, West Bromwich, in the early hours of this morning (28 April). A live handgun was recovered from a car along with a stash of ammunition. Two people, a man and a woman both in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and possession with intent to supply drugs. Both remain in custody while our enquiries continue.'
