Police Respond to Early Morning Disorder in City Centre

West Midlands Police rushed to a report of a disorder near a Greggs bakery on Smithford Way in Coventry city centre at around 8am on Thursday, November 27. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had sustained serious knife injuries.

Victim Hospitalised Following Serious Assault

The victim, a man in his 40s, was found with stab wounds to his neck and his arm. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to hospital for further care. A police spokesman confirmed that his injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

Swift Arrest Made as Investigation Continues

Following immediate enquiries, officers located and arrested a 34-year-old man on the nearby Stoney Stanton Road at approximately 10am the same morning. The suspect remains in police custody as detectives continue their investigation into the violent incident.
