Merry Hill Manager Threatened in £700 Theft

Police are appealing for the public's help to identify a man and a woman after a store manager was threatened and pushed during a brazen theft at a popular Black Country shopping centre.

Violent Confrontation During Daytime Raid

The incident took place at the Merry Hill Shopping Centre on Sunday, December 7. Between 1pm and 1.20pm, two individuals are alleged to have stolen clothing and accessories with a total value exceeding £700.

When a store manager intervened in an attempt to prevent the theft, the situation escalated. The manager was verbally threatened and physically pushed out of the way by the suspects to facilitate their escape.

CCTV Images Released in Public Appeal

West Midlands Police have now issued clear CCTV stills of two people they are urgently seeking to identify in connection with the robbery and assault.

The woman pictured has red hair, tied up into a bun. The man has dark hair and was seen wearing a black hooded top and a green Gap garment at the time of the incident.

A force spokesperson stated: "We launched an investigation after over £700 worth of clothing and accessories were stolen from a store in Merry Hill. A store manager who attempted to stop the theft was also verbally threatened and pushed out of the way."
