A motorcyclist has sustained life-changing leg injuries following a collision with a car in Kingshurst, near Birmingham. The incident occurred on Cooks Lane yesterday afternoon, Saturday, July 4, just after 1.20pm.
Emergency Response and Hospitalisation
West Midlands Police officers arrived at the scene to find the rider already receiving medical treatment from ambulance crews. The man was subsequently rushed to hospital for further care. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police enquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
In a statement, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We're appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a motorbike and a car in Solihull yesterday afternoon (Sat). Officers attended at the junction of Cooks Lane, Kingshurst, just after 1.20pm and found the rider being treated by ambulance crew. He was taken to hospital with leg injuries which are understood to be life changing. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting with enquiries."
Investigation Underway
Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses. They are also urging anyone with dashcam footage from around the time of the collision to come forward.
