Detectives have provided a major update on their investigation into a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of an Aston Villa fan. Sean Harron, 44, died from injuries sustained after being struck by a brown Vauxhall Astra near the junction of Romsley Road and Adams Hill in Bartley Green just after 12.30am on Sunday, April 26.
Mr Harron was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away later. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene in the direction of Jiggins Lane. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made.
Vehicle Recovered and Under Forensic Examination
West Midlands Police, providing an update on their investigation today, confirmed that officers have recovered the vehicle suspected of being involved in the fatal crash. The car is now undergoing forensic examination by detectives to help identify the driver.
A force spokesperson said: "We're continuing our investigation into a fatal hit-and-run near the junction of Romsley Road and Adams Hill just after 12.30am on Sunday. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this deeply distressing time. A vehicle suspected of being involved has since been recovered and it is undergoing forensic examination to help try and establish who the driver was."
Previous Police Appeal
Sergeant Rich Evans previously stated: "Tragically, Mr Harron lost his life after being struck by a car which did not then stop. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time. We'd ask anyone who was in the area or may have dashcam footage as they drove through at around the time of the collision, to get in contact."
