Staffordshire Bull Terrier Attack: Police Appeal for Owners

Police are appealing for information after a dangerously out of control dog attacked another animal in Shrewsbury. A Staffordshire bull terrier mauled a second dog in an incident on Poplar Close on Tuesday, May 12. The injured dog required treatment from a vet following the ordeal, police said.

Description of the Owners

Officers described the owners of the Staffordshire bull terrier as two men who appeared to be either Spanish or Italian. They were holding the dog's muzzle and lead and walked towards Spring Gardens after the attack.

Appeal for Information

Anyone with information regarding the incident has been asked to contact West Mercia Police. A spokesperson for the force added: 'Officers are keen to speak to the owners of a dog which was dangerously out of control on Poplar Close in Shrewsbury yesterday (Tuesday, May 12). At around 2pm the dog, a Staffordshire bull terrier, bit another dog while in the street. The injured dog required treatment at the vets.'

'The owners of the Staffordshire bull terrier are described as two men, believed to be European, possibly Spanish or Italian. They were holding the dog's muzzle and lead, and both turned left down an alleyway, leading into Spring Gardens.'
