Police Launch Urgent Witness Appeal Following Vicious Town Centre Assault
Staffordshire Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after a woman was brutally attacked in Tamworth town centre, leaving her with serious facial injuries that required hospital treatment.
Violent Assault on Marmion Street
The disturbing incident occurred on Marmion Street in Tamworth at approximately 7.25pm on Saturday, January 24th. According to police reports, the victim was approached from behind by another woman before being subjected to a violent assault.
The attacker punched the woman multiple times in the head and pulled her hair during the sustained attack, which left the victim with significant facial injuries. Emergency services were quickly alerted to the scene following reports of violence.
Emergency Response and Hospital Treatment
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they received the initial call at 7.18pm and dispatched one ambulance to Marmion Street. Paramedics arrived to find a woman who had sustained what they described as "potentially serious injuries" from the assault.
Ambulance staff provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to hospital for further medical assessment and care. Police have since confirmed that while the injuries were serious, they are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.

The suspect fled the scene on foot shortly after the attack, prompting Staffordshire Police to launch a comprehensive investigation. Detectives are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the perpetrator.
