West Midlands Police have arrested a teenager on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting in Smethwick that left a 19-year-old man injured.
Arrest Made in Bearwood Road Shooting
The 18-year-old suspect was detained this morning (May 4) in connection with the incident that occurred on March 11. At around 1:30 am that day, a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg on Bearwood Road.
The arrested individual has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent. He remains in police custody for questioning.
Two Others Already Charged
Police have confirmed that two other people have already been charged with attempted murder in relation to the same incident. The investigation by West Midlands Police is ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. A police spokesperson stated: "We've arrested a teenager on suspicion of attempted murder as we continue to investigate a shooting in Smethwick. We acted on information and this morning detained an 18-year-old man in connection with the incident in Bearwood Road on 11 March. A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg at around 1.30am. The 18-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent. He remains in custody for questioning. We've already charged two others with attempted murder and our enquiries are ongoing."
