Police in Coventry have launched a public appeal for information after a teenage boy was attacked with a so-called zombie knife in the city centre.
Details of the City Centre Attack
The serious assault occurred on Friday, 8 November, at approximately 5:30pm. The victim, a 15-year-old boy, was riding an electric scooter through a park near Upper Well Street when he was stopped by an individual wielding a blade.
During the ensuing confrontation, the teenager attempted to defend himself and suffered knife wounds to his hand. He was able to escape from the assailant following the attack. The weapon used was described by authorities as a zombie knife.
Police Release CCTV Images in Public Appeal
West Midlands Police, covering Coventry, have now released a CCTV image of two individuals they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. The details of the attack were made public in late December as part of the investigation.
A spokesperson for Coventry Police stated: "We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was attacked near Upper Well Street in Coventry. A 15-year-old boy reported that he was riding an e-scooter through the park where he was approached by someone armed with a zombie knife."
The spokesperson added: "In trying to defend himself, the teenager received cuts from the knife to his hand, before he was able to escape. If you were in the area at the time or witnessed the incident, please get in touch with us."
