Police in Birmingham are continuing their investigation into a violent street brawl that left two men with serious stab wounds. The incident, which involved a dramatic collision between two high-value cars, occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Violence erupts in city centre street
The disturbance flared on Summer Lane, an area bordering Hockley and the city centre, at around 4:50am on Saturday, December 6. Officers were called to reports of a large-scale altercation.
Upon arrival, they discovered two men, both in their 20s, suffering from serious stab wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital, where they were reported to be in a stable condition by Saturday night.
Cordon remains as ten suspects held
The scene on Summer Lane was sealed off by police for at least 12 hours, causing significant disruption to traffic. Within the cordon, two severely damaged vehicles were a focal point for investigators.
A yellow Lamborghini Urus, valued at approximately £200,000, and a black Skoda were seen with extensive damage. Their exact role in the incident remains part of the ongoing police probe.
West Midlands Police moved swiftly to make arrests. Ten individuals – eight men and two women aged between 19 and 24 – were detained on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding. All ten remained in police custody for questioning on Saturday night.
Appeal for information continues
More than 24 hours after the attack, detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. The force has asked witnesses or those with footage to contact them.
A police spokesperson stated: "We were called to the area of Summer Lane, Birmingham at around 4.50am this morning after two men in their 20s sustained stab wounds. They have both been taken to hospital with serious injuries and are in a stable condition."
