A third man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in a Midland street. Darell Ayuketah, from Tipton, was charged after the gun incident took place in Bearwood Road, Smethwick, at around 1.30am on Wednesday, March 11. The 18-year-old was also charged with possession of a firearm.
Previous Charges
Haytham Almosuli, 21, was previously charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of two zombie knives in a private place, theft, fraud and motoring offences. He was remanded in custody. Akobi Folarin, 23, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He appeared before Wolverhampton magistrates and was remanded to appear before the city’s crown court on May 18.
Victim and Investigation
A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg shortly before 1.30am on March 11 and taken to hospital. He was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and released on police bail. West Midlands Police said: “We’ve charged another man in connection with a shooting in Smethwick earlier this year. We yesterday detained an 18-year-old as part of our investigation into a man being shot in the leg in Bearwood Road on 11 March. Darell Ayuketah, from Tipton, has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm. He has been remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (May 5).”
