Three men have been arrested and two knives seized following a police incident in the heart of Wolverhampton.

Foot Chase in City Centre

The incident unfolded on Sunday, 28 December, at approximately 5pm. Officers from West Midlands Police identified what they described as a suspicious vehicle on Broad Street in the city centre and moved to stop it.

Upon approaching the car, a 25-year-old man was detained at the scene. However, two other occupants fled from the vehicle, prompting a brief foot chase through the area.

Arrests and Recovery of Weapons

The pursuit led to the detention of the two other individuals: a second 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man. Following the arrests, a search of the vehicle was conducted.

This search resulted in the discovery and recovery of two lock knives. All three men were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

Men Remain in Custody

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the details, stating the force had "recovered two knives and made three arrests after spotting a suspicious vehicle in Wolverhampton city centre."

The spokesperson added that "All three were arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and remain in custody for questioning." The men were still being held as of Monday, 29 December.
