Two men have been arrested in connection with a series of indecent exposure offences in Birmingham, following a two-month spree that targeted university students in the Selly Oak area.
Arrests Made After Police Investigation
West Midlands Police launched an investigation after receiving multiple reports of indecent exposure incidents in Selly Oak. Officers pursued several lines of inquiry to identify the suspect. On Tuesday evening, an off-duty officer spotted a man believed to be linked to the case. The suspect was detained and handed over to an on-duty officer, who took him into custody.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of exposure and remains in custody.
Second Arrest in Perry Barr
In a separate incident, police received reports of exposure on Aldridge Road in Perry Barr on Tuesday. Officers attended the scene and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of outraging public decency and indecent exposure. He also remains in custody.
A force spokesperson said: “We understand how distressing this kind of crime can be, and we always take reports of it seriously. We encourage anyone who experiences or witnesses such behaviour to report it to us immediately.”
The arrests come as part of a broader effort by West Midlands Police to address public safety concerns in Birmingham. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
