A major Birmingham street was sealed off for hours after a violent early-morning brawl that left two men with stab wounds and a £200,000 luxury car smashed to pieces.
Chaos on Summer Lane
Police were called to Summer Lane, which borders Birmingham city centre and Hockley, at around 4:50am on Saturday, December 6. What was initially thought to be a serious road collision quickly escalated into a major incident.
Officers from West Midlands Police arrived to find two men, both in their 20s, suffering from stab wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital, where they remained in a serious but stable condition throughout the evening.
Ten Arrests Following Violent Disorder
The disturbance, which flared shortly before 5am, led to a significant police operation. Ten individuals – comprising eight men and two women – were subsequently arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding.
All suspects, aged between 19 and 24 years old, were taken into custody for questioning. Dramatic photographs from the scene showed the aftermath, including two severely damaged vehicles.
Luxury Car Among the Wreckage
Among the wrecked cars was a distinctive yellow Lamborghini Urus, a high-performance SUV with a market value of approximately £200,000. The images of the destroyed supercar underscored the intensity of the confrontation.
Police have cordoned off the area for a large part of the day to conduct forensic investigations and clear the scene.
The force has now issued a public appeal for information as their inquiry continues. A spokesperson stated: "Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via Live Chat or call 101 quoting log 596 of 6 December."
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about violent crime in the region, with a major police response deployed to secure the area and apprehend those believed to be involved.
