A car that failed to stop for police reached speeds of 80mph before crashing into a traffic light and fence in Walsall, resulting in the arrest of three men and the discovery of cash, class A drugs, and weapons.
High-Speed Incident on Old Pleck Road
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, April 13, on Old Pleck Road in Walsall. West Midlands Police officers spotted the vehicle on Pleck Road around 1:30 a.m. and attempted to stop it, but the car sped away, hitting approximately 80mph before losing control and colliding with infrastructure.
Following the crash, a thorough search of the vehicle was conducted, leading to the recovery of a significant amount of cash, class A drugs, and weapons, including a baseball bat and a machete. This discovery prompted immediate arrests at the scene.
Arrests and Charges
Three men were taken into custody in connection with the incident. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Additionally, two other men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon. All three individuals remain in police custody as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police provided details on the event, stating, "Three men are in custody after officers recovered drugs, weapons, and cash from a car in Walsall. Officers spotted the car on Pleck Road around 1.30am today, and it failed to stop for them before hitting speeds of 80mph and then crashing into a traffic light and fence on Old Pleck Road."
The spokesperson further explained, "Three men were detained, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a large quantity of cash and class A drugs, as well as weapons including a baseball bat and machete." This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes and dangerous driving in the area.
