Woman Fist-Bumped by Thief After Being Trapped in Stolen Uber in Birmingham

Incident Details at Harborne Lane Petrol Station

The bizarre event occurred at approximately 9:35 PM on Wednesday, April 8, at the Shell petrol station on Harborne Lane. The woman was a passenger in the Uber when it was stolen from the forecourt.

Passenger's Account and Police Response

The passenger told BirminghamLive that she remained calm during the ordeal, which she believes helped de-escalate the situation. She mentioned the thief claimed he had "just left prison".

However, she expressed frustration with the police response, stating they were more focused on recovering the stolen vehicle than assisting her with a lift home.

  • The passenger was in the vehicle when it was stolen but exited shortly after.
