Hundreds of Bikers Honour Amelia Kolpa with Colourful Funeral Procession in Rowley Regis
In a moving display of community solidarity, hundreds of motorbike riders joined the funeral cortege for eight-year-old Amelia Kolpa in Rowley Regis today. The procession, which took place on April 1, 2026, saw bikers assemble outside Amelia's home before accompanying her coffin to Waseley Hills Crematorium in Rubery, Birmingham.
A Heartwarming Tribute to a Brave Girl
Amelia tragically passed away last month after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her story had captured hearts worldwide, particularly when she achieved her dream of breaking a record for receiving the most birthday cards, with messages arriving from countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
Family members requested that attendees wear bright colours instead of traditional black, leading to a vibrant scene with riders in shades of pink, purple, and colourful helmets and visors. Some bikers even wore special costumes over their gear, including one dressed as a blue rabbit and another as a pink Power Ranger.

The funeral procession featured a variety of vehicles, with quadbikes and trikes alongside traditional motorbikes, filling residential streets in Rowley Regis. Amelia's coffin was carried in a white horse-drawn carriage, pulled by two white horses, adding to the poignant atmosphere.
A special banner was flown overhead bearing the words 'Amelia Forever 8', symbolising the lasting memory of the young girl. In a heartfelt message posted on Amelia's Facebook page, her mother, Katarzyna Bartczak, expressed her grief, writing: "Today is your day, my precious… the hardest day of my life. The day I have to let you go… even though every part of me is begging to keep you here. The whole world that you touched and filled with love will be with you today… walking beside you on this final journey here on earth."
