West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that the blaze originated in the kitchen of a first-floor flat. According to their official statement, four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus managed to contain and fully extinguish the flames. Remarkably, no human occupants were present inside the property at the time the fire broke out, though crews did rescue a pet dog from the premises.
