TOWIE Star Jordan Brook Hospitalized with Serious Brain Condition

Jordan Brook, a well-known star from the reality television series The Only Way is Essex, has publicly disclosed that he is battling two severe medical conditions. The 31-year-old has been diagnosed with viral meningitis and encephalitis, a life-threatening inflammation of the brain.

Weeks of Hospitalization and Diagnosis

Brook has spent multiple weeks in the hospital after falling seriously ill, with doctors initially struggling to identify the cause of his symptoms. After conducting a series of extensive medical tests, including CT scans, lumbar punctures, and MRIs, physicians confirmed the dual diagnosis. Encephalitis, as noted by the NHS, is a rare but serious condition where the brain becomes inflamed, posing significant health risks.

Personal Update from Hospital Bed

In a heartfelt video shared from his hospital bed, Brook explained his situation in detail. "I've been diagnosed with not one but two joining viruses that are attacking a similar part of my body," he said. "I have got viral meningitis and encephalitis together. That's the inflammation of the brain and the lining around it. So this isn't something small or minor."

He described undergoing rigorous medical procedures and receiving round-the-clock care, including IV drips, antiviral medications, pain management, physiotherapy, and seizure monitoring. "But unfortunately the swelling on my brain is getting worse," Brook added, highlighting the challenges he faces with daily activities.

Focus on Recovery and Family

Brook, who is expecting his first child with partner Sophie Kasaei, emphasized his determination to recover. "My focus right now is simple: I need to get healthy," he stated. "My Sophie's been amazing and she's growing my precious baby boy. I just want to be a young, healthy dad, home for my family, with my baby, that's the goal. This won't beat me."

He also addressed misinformation circulating online, urging people to be cautious about what they read. "I'd like to reach out to everyone and say just be careful what you read online and be conscious of some things that people are writing," Brook remarked, noting that some comments have inaccurately speculated about his condition.

Despite the severity of his illness, Brook remains optimistic about his recovery, expressing gratitude for the support from family, friends, and fans. "I will get out of this. Thank you to all my family and my friends, everyone's messages that have been coming through and keeping us all going," he concluded.
