Birmingham is set to experience a significant warm spell, with temperatures forecast to reach 20C on Monday, April 27, matching the heat felt in the popular Spanish tourist destination Benidorm. According to weather maps from WX Charts, the city will bask in conditions that rival those of the Mediterranean coast.
Warm Weather Ahead
The 20C forecast for Birmingham mirrors the temperature expected in Benidorm on the same day. Meanwhile, London could see even higher temperatures, with the mercury potentially rising to 22C, according to wxcharts.com. This warm spell comes as a welcome change as the UK transitions from early spring into milder conditions.
Mixed Forecast from Met Office
Despite the promising outlook, the Met Office has predicted a mixed bag of weather for Monday, with both rain and sunshine expected. Showers are likely to be confined to the north and east of the country. In its outlook from Monday to Wednesday, the Met Office stated: "Showers in the north and east on Monday, some perhaps heavy. Otherwise, some warm sunshine. Mostly fine on Tuesday and Wednesday, though a strengthening easterly wind in the south."
Looking further ahead to the first week of May, the Met Office added: "High pressure is likely to lie close to the UK at the start of this period. Most places will be dry with sunny spells and light winds, although there could be some overnight mist and fog. Into the first week of May, conditions will probably become more changeable with low-pressure systems becoming more likely. This means an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, with a risk of strong winds at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to or slightly above normal."
