Firefighters from Dudley Fire Station, Brierley Hill Fire Station, and Hayden Cross Fire Station attended the scene. The fire was described as 'severe,' but all occupants managed to escape to safety, according to the fire service. West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that a man was assessed by medics and discharged at the scene, while West Midlands Police stated that a number of individuals were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: 'We've arrested four people on suspicion of arson after a fire at a property in Dudley. We were called to a flat on Ashenhurst Road just after 7pm yesterday. We are working to establish the cause of the fire. A number of people went to hospital to be checked as a precaution.'
