A teenager has been charged and remanded in custody after police discovered a firearm at an address in Wolverhampton earlier this year.
Arrest and Charges Following February Discovery
Callum McTaggart-Box, aged 18, was arrested by officers on Thursday, 4 December. The arrest followed the seizure of a firearm from a property on Dickens Road, Wolverhampton, on 14 February this year.
McTaggart-Box was subsequently charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. He was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Friday, 5 December.
Part of Wider Crackdown on Serious Crime
West Midlands Police confirmed the arrest was made by their dedicated Wolverhampton Gangs team. The force stated the action forms part of Operation Target, their ongoing initiative to tackle serious and organised crime across the region.
The operation involves officers using local intelligence, executing warrants, seizing illegal goods, and directly targeting offenders. A police spokesperson said: "We're currently running Operation Target which sees us take a defiant stand against a range of serious and organised crime offences."
