A man has been stabbed in the hand during a violent disorder that broke out between a group of people on a residential street in Birmingham.
Incident Details
The 24-year-old victim presented himself at a hospital with a stab wound to his hand after the altercation occurred in Reginald Road, Alum Rock, at approximately 11:44 AM today, May 7. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Police were called to the scene but the individuals involved in the fight had already left the area by the time officers arrived. The one-way residential street was sealed off for investigation.
Emergency Response
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics were not called to the incident. West Midlands Police stated that officers will remain at the scene tonight to offer reassurance to the local community.
Police Appeal
A force spokesperson said: "We were called to Reginald Road at around 11.44am today to reports of disorder. On arrival the group had left the area. A 24-year-old man later presented at hospital with a stab wound to his hand where he remains in a stable condition. We remain in the area to offer reassurance to the local community. Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log 1977 of May 7."
