Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body at a property in Birmingham's Perry Barr district.
Body Discovered on Walsall Road
Emergency services were called to an address on Walsall Road, close to the Scott Arms, just after 6:30 am on Wednesday morning. The call related to a man, believed to be in his 40s, who had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. West Midlands Police have stated they are treating the death as unexplained and have initiated a murder investigation as a central line of inquiry.
Three Suspects in Custody
As part of their urgent inquiries, officers have arrested three individuals in connection with the man's death. The suspects comprise two men, aged 49 and 58, and a 41-year-old woman. All three remain in police custody for questioning.
The property where the body was found is understood to be a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO). Police secured the scene for several hours, with forensic teams and investigators working at the address until at least 1 pm on Wednesday.
