Police Hunt Thief Who Stole Volkswagen in Fake Test Drive

West Midlands Police have issued an appeal for a man after a thief posing as a buyer stole a Volkswagen from the owner’s house in Yardley, Birmingham.

The incident occurred on the evening of 20 February this year, and officers have been conducting extensive enquiries since then to identify the suspect. Now, the force has released a CCTV image of the man to aid the investigation.

The white Volkswagen had been listed for sale online. A man claiming to be interested in purchasing the car visited the owner’s home for a test drive. While the owner was momentarily distracted outside the vehicle, the suspect drove the car away.
