143 Cannabis Plants Seized in 'Vast' Birmingham Farm Raid
Vast cannabis farm discovered in Birmingham property

Police in Birmingham have uncovered a significant illegal cannabis cultivation site following a targeted raid on a residential property.

Police Action Following Intelligence

Acting on specific intelligence, officers from West Midlands Police's Operation Skybridge team, supported by local neighbourhood officers, executed a drugs warrant at a property on St Thomas Road in Stockland Green, Erdington. The raid took place on December 4, 2025.

Scale of the Illegal Operation

Inside the address, authorities discovered what they described as a 'vast' cannabis farm. The illegal cultivation operation occupied all three floors of the building. During the search, police successfully seized a total of 143 cannabis plants alongside a large amount of sophisticated growing equipment used to nurture the crops.

Ongoing Investigation

A clear indicator of the criminal enterprise was the illegal tampering with the property's utilities. Investigators found that the electricity meter had been bypassed, stealing power to run the energy-intensive growing setup. At the time of the initial report, no arrests had been made. However, a full investigation is actively underway as police work to identify and locate those responsible for establishing and managing the extensive cannabis farm.

The discovery highlights ongoing police efforts to tackle organised drug production within local communities.
