Aston Building Blaze: Firefighters Battle Inferno

Firefighters are currently battling a blaze that has ripped through a building in Aston. The fire broke out at a property near Lichfield Road and Rocky Lane on Thursday afternoon, May 7.

A local resident reported hearing an "explosion" before the fire started. The resident told BirminghamLive: "There's a big fire and explosion in Aston by Lichfield Road and Rocky Lane. I'm one of the residents. There are three engines on site, including a ladder."

Footage from the scene showed members of the public using fire extinguishers to try to tackle the blaze before firefighters arrived.

A spokesperson for the city's fire control room confirmed that four fire crews were called to the scene at around 1:30 pm. BirminghamLive has contacted West Midlands Fire Service and West Midlands Police for comment.
