Drugs haul seized in Small Heath police raid

Police have uncovered a significant drug dealing operation following a raid on a property in Birmingham.

Raid on Malmesbury Road

Officers from the West Midlands Police Bournville Priority Crime Team executed a drugs warrant at an address on Malmesbury Road in Small Heath. The operation took place on Monday, December 1. The location is situated off Coventry Road, just a short distance from Small Heath Park.

Large Quantity of Drugs Seized

Upon entering the property, police discovered a substantial haul of illegal substances and equipment. The find included:

  • A large amount of suspected Class A drugs.
  • A quantity of suspected Class B drugs.
  • Scales, dealing bags, and paraphernalia used for cutting and distributing narcotics.

All the seized items were taken away for forensic examination and will be destroyed. No arrests have been made at this stage, but police say enquiries are actively ongoing to identify those responsible for the operation.

Police Appeal for Information

Inspector David Murray from Birmingham Police stated that the force acted on intelligence about drugs being stored at the address. He emphasised the wider impact of such crimes, saying: "Drugs not only ruin lives but also fuel other crime. We’re continually working... to bring down drug lines throughout the West Midlands."
